Kego Lake, Fifty Lakes

This is a cozy and very private cabin on several acres of pine forest right on the lake. Kego Lake is a great lake to fish for pan fish and you don't even need to know the secret spots. The entire lake has great fishing.

We have been coming back for several years and will continue to do so until never.

Ruth & Fred are wonderful hosts and are accommodating in every way. The property is everything one could wish for to have a wonderful north woods vacation. We wish we could stay longer. We look forward to future stays with Fred & Ruth at this peaceful getaway.

We had a really nice family vacation at Ruth and Fred's cabin. It was the most peaceful setting and the hosts were wonderful. We fished, swam, checked out the local shops and generally relaxed. The cabin was clean, well stocked kitchen, and even some games and books available to use. Couldn't have asked for a better place to stay on our first trip up north! Hope to visit again!

Perfect Family Getaway

This was our 2nd week of 2019 at the cabin. Everything, as usual, was clean and ready for us. When we had a question about the boat motor, Fred quickly came and resolved the issue. We always are so appreciative of the comfort, quiet, and beauty of the Strohmeier’s property. This visit we saw multiple loons, geese, a heron, an eagle family out for a “test flight “, and deer drinking from the lake. We look forward to seeing Ruth and Fred for our third trip to Kego this year.

Another wonderful week at Kego

My family of 5 escaped the craziness of life and went to this cabin 3 hours from our home. We came together again as a family playing games around the kitchen table and telling stories while driving the pontoon around the lake. We had the lake to ourselves almost the entire time. We fished. We swam. We watched as loons would come near our boat and eagles flew over our heads. It was like a scene from a movie. The owners were amazing. I called to let them know I needed gas for the pontoon and within 5 min he was there to help. With them being so close it was great, but not once did I feel like we were being watched. We saw millions of stars at night and listened to music has we roasted marshmallows. I could go on and on but you get the idea - if you want quiet, calm, relaxing, quality family time - you won't be disappointed.
